Mesa High-Fidelity Dattorro Plate Reverb
4MS Mesa
4MS and Valley Audio have come together to bring us a new reverb module of colossal proportion; Mesa, a high-fidelity plate reverb based on the legendary Dattorro algorithm. Inspired by Valley Audio's legendary Plateau VCV rack module, Mesa brings the excellent sound and feature set to this hardware version, without compromising on sound quality. The module contains a 1GHz Cortex-A7 processor, capable of processing audio at a 96kHz sample rate; this produces an extremely high-fidelity sound, which is especially powerful when the settings are pushed into esoteric territory. Nearly every parameter has its own CV input, giving you access to a wide array of possible reverb sounds and movements. Both the input and output sections have their own discrete filter controls, allowing you to apply high or low-pass filters to your sound at every step of the way.
In addition to the Diffusion knob, there is an extra layer of possible smearing with the Diffuse Input button, which affects the signal before it ever reaches the reverb for fans of particularly blurry spatial effects. Make Mesa sing with the Tuned Size button, which automatically adjusts the size parameter to track with 1V/Oct CV sources for a lush, musical reverb. There are a set of internal LFOs that make up the modulation section, which can be applied to the buffer stage to make your reverb feel organic and alive. In addition to the modulation rate and depth, the modulation shape can be defined and manipulated in real time to create additional layers of movement. If you're after a reverb sound that excels in both familiar and esoteric forms of spatial effects, Mesa from 4MS combines superb sound quality with an open-ended set of controls to create a truly one-of-a-kind reverb.
