Organelle S2 from Critter & Guitari is a highly programmable device for creating synths, samplers, and real-time audio processing, all done with the flexibility of Pure Data. Exactly like the Organelle M in almost every way, the Organelle S2 shaves off the battery compartment and the speaker for a slightly lower price and a return to the form factor of the original Organelle. Even more powerful than the Organelle S, the S2 is the pinnacle of processing power and performability, showcasing a stellar 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of patch and audio storage, and a full-fledged version of Linux for performing and editing your PD patches right from the device! Easily find or create subtractive, FM, and granular synths, drum machines, sampler instruments, and even processors like reverbs, delays, EQs, vocoders, and much much more. If you have nothing but the Organelle, you can easily sample straight into the device via the onboard microphone for either real-time processing or capturing for further manipulation.

Organelle S2's onboard keyboard makes for a solid way to play out chords, melodies, basslines, and even drum patterns, while the four assignable knobs can be used for filter sweeps, ADSR control, or whatever you need to wiggle. The MIDI I/O offers immediate outboard access to synchronizing as well as performing both your Organelle S2 and outboard gear—download or patch up a highly flexible sequencer to playback multiple instruments straight from the Organelle S2. If you don't want to create your own patches from scratch, there is an immense library of patches available online for you to dive into and find the best ones to fit your needs. Transfer these patches from your computer over a USB drive via one of the two USB type-A ports or attach the USB WiFi dongle, a mouse, and a monitor via the HDMI port for immediate access to web-browsing for patches straight from the Organelle S2.
