Moddict Orphiser

Moddict's Orphiser is a unique multi-function modulation source that combines predictable and stochastic elements to add organic and inspiring movement to any patch. At the core of the module, the Accumulator provides the basis for its behavior. It provides a running voltage buffer that either increments or decrements from the current voltage to a new value when it receives a clock signal. The Step Size knob and CV input govern the amount of change imparted at each step, adding or subtracting from the running total. Small step settings change gradually, while large settings make sudden leaps between values. When the Accumulator reaches the maximum value set by the Max knob, the Boundary switch sets one of three behaviors, Reset, Clamp, and Reflect.

You aren't locked into a preset pattern of changes in voltage, Orphiser includes a host of parameters that add variation and unpredictable behavior to the outputs. Use the Random and Dir knobs to add variation to the size between steps and probabilistic changes in direction to the Accumulator. Simply smooth out the transitions between states using the Slew knob. However if you want to add more complex variations to the behavior between steps, reach for the Energy knob. Energy adds inertial momentum when turned to the right or simulates gravitational pull when turned to the left. Both settings add movement and oscillations, decaying, bouncing, and providing organic motion. The Shadow output follows and interacts with the main Accumulator in one of six modes. These modes range from a second, slightly altered version of the Accumulator, accompanying envelope useful for VCAs or chaotic movement based on the classic Lorenz strange attractor. Orphiser sits in the perfect middle ground between random and periodic, letting you fine tune its behavior or find inspiration from its unique unpredictable forms of modulation.
